In warm, glittering water, a reef bustled. Larry the lionfish drifted in, spines fanning wide. "Wow," whispered Larry, "so many colors!" He swished closer, curious and brave. The reef hummed, "Welcome, traveler," soft as bubbles.

"I'm starving," said Larry, flicking his fins. Quick as a spark, he pounced. Tiny fish scattered; some couldn't hide. Snap! He gobbled too many snacks. The water quieted, and shadows thickened.

"Where did everyone go?" Larry asked. Green fuzz crept over rocks, blocking light. Corals dulled, sighing, "We need our grazers." Larry circled, uneasy. He felt the reef growing sleepy and sad.

He searched the coral maze for friends. "Hello?" he called, tail swishing, heart thumping. Only drifting algae answered, swaying, "Chompers missing." "Did I cause this?" Larry whispered. Bubbles popped like worried little drums.

"I'll fix it!" Larry declared, trying salad. He nibbled algae, made a face, sputtered. "Bleh, I'm built for hunting," he groaned. He patrolled gently, refusing extra bites. His belly rumbled; the reef still dimmed.

Larry hovered by a sandy channel. "Ocean, guide me," he said to the current. The water murmured, "Balance matters, little hunter." He followed the gentle pull, fins fluttering. Far-off bubbles clinked like tiny bells.

A diver glided near, eyes smiling behind glass. "Easy, friend," she said, voice bubbly through breath. Nets rustled softly; Larry paused, curious. She scooped him gently, no bumps or bonks. "I'm Mila. We'll help the reef," she promised.

In a floating tub, water swished comfortingly. "Where are we going?" Larry asked. "Home waters for your kind," Mila replied. Boat engines purred; gulls cried encouragement. Larry felt currents changing, familiar and right.

Splash! He slipped into warm Indo-Pacific blue. "This smells like me," Larry sighed happily. Coral towers here bristled with watchful predators. Quick prey darted, perfectly practiced at escaping. "Game on," he chuckled, choosing careful, fair hunts.

Later, a passing swell whispered reef news. "Grazers returned; algae thinned; corals glow!" "Yes!" Larry cheered, spinning a bubbly loop. He thanked the tide for carrying the message. "Balance feels beautiful," the water answered.

Larry met another lionfish cruising the edge. "Hunt smart, share space," the neighbor clicked. "And respect each reef's rules," Larry added. Together they patrolled, leaving nurseries alone. The sea thrummed with lively, even music.

At dusk, Larry gazed toward far reefs. "Every creature has a job," he said. "We can help, too!" called Mila from memory. Larry swished away, promising balance wherever he swam. The ocean sang, "Teamwork keeps wonders shining."
