On a sunlit forest path, Anne kneels beside a berry-lined trail, wide-eyed and smiling, holding a shiny red apple inches from her open mouth as the fruit subtly wriggles in her hands.
Anne skipped down the forest path, humming. Suddenly, a shiny red apple tumbled from a tree ahead. "Wow! Look at this beautiful apple!" she cheered, picking it up. She turned it around, admiring its color and shine. With a big smile, she opened her mouth to take a bite. Just then, the apple wriggled a little in her hands.
Under leafy midday forest canopy, Anne stands holding the apple at chest level, laughing, while worm with big eyes pokes its head through a bite-sized hole in the fruit, smiling back.
A green, long worm with big eyes peeked out from the apple. "Hello! Who are you?" Anne gasped in surprise. The worm blinked and replied, "I'm Wiggly, and this is my home!" Anne giggled, looking at Wiggly's silly face. "I almost ate you!" she said. Both giggled together under the leafy trees.
In the dappled afternoon woods, Anne waves from the path, cheerful face tilted upward, as worm with big eyes clambers out of the apple onto a low branch above, beaming tiny smile beside the glistening red fruit.
Anne looked at the apple, then at Wiggly. "I don't want to eat your home," she said kindly. Wiggly smiled, "Thank you, Anne!" He wriggled out of the apple, climbing onto a nearby branch. Anne waved, "Bye, Wiggly!" Wiggly waved his tiny tail back happily. Anne decided to look for another snack.
At the forest tree base in warm late-day light, Anne places the red apple home on soft moss, smiling contentedly, while worm with big eyes peeks from the apple doorway and nods, golden rays filtering through branches behind them.
Anne set the apple under the tree for Wiggly. "Enjoy your home, Wiggly!" she called. Wiggly nodded, peeking from his apple door. Anne skipped down the path, happy to have made a new friend. The forest felt brighter with laughter and kindness. She wondered what adventure would come next!
